| Captain Sam Ciaramitaro Kids's Day |
Each
year the Thumb Area Charter Boat Association has an annual Kid's Day held
in July. Kids between 6 & 16 years of age are selected. The kids have
to be accompanied by an adult. Names are drawn and the parents notified.
Kids and their guardians are provided with rooms the night before the
fishing trip and each kid is given a packet filled with free activities
for the rest of the day. The packets have a free lunch, pony rides, putt
putt golf, canoe rides, ice cream, and go-cart rides all donated by the
Port Austin Chamber of Commerce. Our Association donates the charter boats
for the event.
Remember!! The Thumb Area has been picked by the Michigan Department of
Natural Resources the last several years as the ports with the most fish
caught per charter trip.
