Thumb Area Charter Boat Association's Mission Statement:

To promote the recognition of the charter industry and the professionalism of the charter captains in the thumb area.
To insure the general public that our vessels are fully inspected by the State of Michigan and the Captains are licensed by the United States Coast Guard.
To secure continued fish plants, improve our harbor facilities, and to promote the thumb area.

Captain Sam Ciaramitaro Kids's Day Each year Thumb Area Charter Boat Association, in memory of one of its founders, has a “Kid’s Day” event. Youngsters are chosen from among those who put their names in a drawing the Captains conduct at the Outdoorama Show held in Novi each year. The kids and their families enjoy a free sport fishing charter that the captain’s hope will instill in them a love of fishing and being outdoors.
THE THUMB AREA WAS PICKED BY THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR SEVERAL YEARS AS THE HAVING THE PORTS WITH THE MOST FISH CAUGHT PER CHARTER TRIP.
